The refurbishment of a very busy city centre hotel to bring it up to date. The client required flexible subcontractors as the programme was dictated by hotel bookings.
Individual floors were completely gutted down to the concrete floors and then re screeded using both structual and non structual flowing screed.
The challenges on the contract included:
- Achieving quick drying times on the screed to allow for the quick application of floor coverings.
- Pumping in excess of 100m2 to the higher floors.
- Working to very tight deadlines to achieve programme i.e. 700m2 a day.
- Waste management of prime importance as the hotel is operational.
- Maintaining a high level of Health and Safety awareness throughout.
